What does STOCK IN GOD mean?
For better or worse, each of us has stock in our own business and in other businesses. These equity positions largely influence our net worth and can be what we put our hope and future in. Fortunately, it was never designed to be this way. Stock in God reminds us that our hope and trust is in God, not our diversified portfolio. Stock in God declares that our net worth is not measured in numbers, but it lies in Jesus Christ. It is in His life, death, and resurrection that we invest our hope and future–our stock is in God alone.
What’s at stake?
Building a successful business is a war. Every day there are battles waged against competitors, broken systems, personnel, and obsolescence. When you add the stress, sleepless nights and graying hair, it’s easy to forget the most important part: orienting our hearts toward God and seeking His wisdom and glory above all else.
In eternity, will it matter if our business was a raging success? Maybe, maybe not. But on earth, we have a choice: we can either make every effort to build our business or we can make every effort to honor God. These things are not mutually exclusive, but one supersedes the other.
God has called us to live a life set apart, transformed and focused on Him. This blog is a reminder and a resource on how to do that, not just as business owners, but as Christian business owners. So read, engage, and let’s put our Stock in God.
